Rob is a leading criminal defence lawyer in the Waikato with more than 30 years of experience. He has extensive knowledge in serious crimes, civil and commercial litigation, and administrative law. Rob is trusted to provide clients with the latest up to date legal advice and deliver strong representation.
Rob has good contact with practitioners and has worked externally in the courts in Hamilton, Tauranga, Napier, Hastings, Rotorua and Auckland

As a senior Waikato lawyer, Rob is recognised for his specialty in trials concerning serious criminal allegations. He also has extensive experience in civil litigation. Rob was admitted to the New Zealand Bar in 1987 and has practiced continuously since. Rob is a member of the Honorable Society of Gray’s Inn, a member of the Bar of England and Wales, and has a General Council of the Bar Provisional Practicing Certificate. He was also admitted to the Bar as a Barrister & Solicitor to the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2005. Rob has dealt with disciplinary matters for players on behalf of the Fraser Tech Rugby Club and is a Trustee for the Midlands NFX Trust.
Rob has been involved as defence counsel in a number of serious and difficult criminal trials, all of which have involved pre-trial applications, and for some, Court of Appeal attendances. Rob also has extensive experience in civil, commercial and administrative law, dealing with multi-million dollar assets and providing counsel for high ranking health boards within the Government. Furthermore, Rob has experience in class action cases and has been involved in Government related inquiries which provide him with a broad skill set.
Rob also attends to all administrative operations established by the Public Defence Service of the National Office and develops strong relationships with Members of the Judiciary from the Hamilton Bench; Ministry of Justice; Legal Aid; members of the local Bar; Crown Prosecutors for Hamilton and Police Prosecution Service Hamilton.
